How to make Patch Vests
I made a pattern on large paper for the 45" X 26 1/2" vest, and have an extra vest in a smaller size that people can borrow.
Supplies
- Dritz Eyelet Kit (has enough for 6 vests)
- Leather Lacing (Latigo Lace 1/8" X 4yds - Tan). Need an 18" piece per vest.
- Red felt (1 1/4 to 1 1/3 yds per vest - The width of the vest that I made is 45" and the length is 26 1/2". This size fits a tall/husky 3rd grader with room to wear as a Webelo)
Sewing
- The only sewing needed is a 1/2" seam on each of the 3 1/2" shoulders.
Cost
- I used one 40% off coupon for the eyelet kit and one 40% off coupon for the lacing at AC Moore.
- I used a 50% off coupon at Joanne Fabrics for the felt.
- The total cost per vest was approximately $2.00.
